Former University of Massachusetts Water Polo standout Geoff Gear begins his fifth season as the Director and Head Coach of Central Ohio Water Polo. Gear, a former All American Water Polo player and an All American High School Swimmer brings a wealth of Water Polo experience to Central Ohio.

Head Men’s Water Polo Varsity Coach for both Thomas Worthington and Worthington Kilbourne High Schools, Geoff Gear has lead the Cardinals to two State Championships in 2002 and 2003, two Regionals and the Wolves to a State Championship in 2005, and two Regional Championships in 2002 and 2005.

His experience includes coaching swimming and water polo for Scioto Country Club, Worthington Wave, the Lakes Country Club and the Ohio State Men’s Club Water Polo Team.

Today, Geoff is currently the Assistant Head Coach for the USWP’s Midwest Zone’s Youth Men’s Team as well as assistant coach for St. Charles swim team.  He is also attending Ashland University working on a Teaching Certificate.
